I thoroughly enjoyed my first Challenge in 2013 and I was keen to sign up for TGOC 2014. Again, I wanted to revisit old haunts and, in particular, to go back to the bothy at Maol Bhuide. I arranged a renovation of this bothy in 1980 in memory of my pal Danny Garrad, who died in a fall on Beinn Alligan. I also wanted to finish at the ‘classic’ finishing place, St Cyrus.
